Ian Birks
CEO, Australian Services Roundtable
Ian Birks is the Chief Executive of the Australian Services Roundtable, which is the peak business body for Australian services industries.
Ian is also the current Chair of the Australian Government’s IT Industry Innovation Council, a position which he was appointed to in August 2011. The IT IIC provides advice to the Federal Government on how to drive innovation and industry development in the ICT sector.
Previously, Ian was the CEO of the peak ICT industry association Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA) for 3 years up to July 2011 after previously serving as National Board Director of the AIIA for 2 years prior.
Ian was also an initial founding employee and subsequent director of ASX-listed Ideas International Limited – a global IT research and advisory firm which he worked with for over 20 years, including 7 years at the helm as the listed company CEO. Ideas International was acquired by NASDAQ-listed Gartner in June 2012.
